Managed to catch some of this on the ITV2 coverage this year. It really made me think the Isle of Wight Festival is best viewed from the comfort of a living room, with a comfy armchair and a chilled glass or two of wine in hand (and a proper toilet just a few steps upstairs).
We went last year with one child and a large pregnancy bump, and although we enjoyed the bands, we found the festival a bit full-on for families. The kids area shut so early that we never actually saw it open, and there was an element of beer-drinking lads on a mission to oblivion that made some of the busy public areas a bit dodgy for the little one as the sun started to go down…
Family Festival rating: 4/10
