Glastonbury for kids

Glastonbury website has a great new article by Alexia, mum of a two-year-old boy, with tips for enjoying the festival. She talks a lot of sense, and FamilyFestivals agrees with just about everything she says. (And we want her rugged three-wheeler buggy too, but that’s a different matter!!)

Here’s an excerpt:
If you’re a parent, you won’t need me to tell you that going to Glastonbury with children in tow is a rather different experience from going on your own. But that doesn’t mean it’s any less enjoyable. Experiencing the Festival with young kids can be just as memorable, exciting and fun as it was as a teenager. Different, yes, but not worse….

Glastonbury Kidz Field is one of the biggest and best on the scene. It’s a children’s festival in its own right and is open from 9am to 7pm each day of the festival. Organisers describethis year’s event as having “familiar faces and new friends, theatre, songs, puppetry and inspired nonsense in our family friendly festival space. And remember, everything we offer is completely free!!”

The Kidz Field has a Lost Childrens and a First-Aid post manned by a large group of highly trained professionals. They even have a qualified Midwife onsite. A CCTV system and stewards on hand keep everyone safe.
