The festival is on Leigh Road recreation ground in the centre of Eastleigh, which is on the main train line from Waterloo between Winchester and Southampton.
The main stages are in covered big tops and the crowd is under shelter, all events are standing only, although there are facilities for people with disabilities. The location is great for families, as there are all the usual High Street facilities within walking distance.
The festival is divided into free events during the day, a brief closure, then ticketed evening performances. This year’s headliners are Eddi Reader (Friday) and British Sea Power (Saturday).
Sunday is the Eastleigh Mela, a free, all day event featuring live music, dance, workshops and stalls, promising a great day out for the whole family. Performers include Kasbiah Knights and Kissmet fresh from playing Glastonbury.
Family Festival rating: 6/10
