Chilling news for Glade fans

The Big Chill, the hip family-friendly festival at Eastnor, has again stepped in to rescue fans of a folded festival.

This time the unfortunate event is Winchester’s electronic and dance music festival Glade, planned for July, but cancelled today due to what the organisers describe as an ‘unexpected forced increase in security and police costs as well as a level of advanced ticket sales below expectations’.

Glade ticketholders who booked through Ticketline have been offered weekend tickets to The Big Chill at the cost of just £7 – that’s £20 less than if they’d booked the Chill in the first place.

The two events have some musical crossover, but Big Chill is the more family-orientated of the two, with dedicated kids’ activities and family camping, as opposed to the more hedonistic atmosphere at Glade.

So – we’re sad that Glade’s no more (at least for now), glad that The Big Chill has opened its gates to Glade fans, and intrigued to see how the two are going to combine at Eastnor!
