How lovely. Sounds like you had a fabulous time. Well done you for going it alone in spite of your festival-going-friends making you feel (understandably) anxious. Looking forward to hearing all about your next festival adventure!

Yeah you old punkette! I'm sure Rebellion was good but if I was going to an indoor festy I'd rather do it in the depths of winter when there's nothing else going on....

Alanski - don't you mean Camp Bestival? Bestival's not even happened this year yet. We went to Camp Bestival and it was great although I don't appreciate being asked to pay for parking on top of the ticket price. Bestival is a very different festival though.

Utterly shameless commercial rip off. Middle class mugs abound with tikes in Boden. Expect to be stung 10 quid for parking and another 10 for a programme that has an incorrect map and numerous missing info.
Go to latitude family field - not as big as kids garden but more magic and avant-garde and interesting than bestial can ever be. Robdabank "curates" the festival which is probably why 120db djs litter the air. Music line up was really lacking too. Thank heavens for the Cuban brothers and Billy Bragg

Great pictures, really captured the colour and excitement of the performances. The close up of Mim Suleiman is a stand out. Nice work, fella!

Charlton Park certainly is an idyllic location for a festival, and all very safe for kids.
It felt less busy this year, or perhaps just better laid out and the loos were really clean.
Music; mostly great stuff but the occassional assault to the ears!

Great review, Great Atmosphere, Great Festival. replying to the comment above I actually thought this festival was incredibly tame on the drugs front compared to other festivals where you cant escape the laughing gas canisters. Only issue I had was with the rules about alcohol in the arena which seemed to change from day to day on the amount you could take it. Either have a zero tolerance policy on bringing in drinks from the campsite or let everyone bring as much as they want, the whole nothing allowed thursday (even though the bar was closed) 4 beers friday and 2 saturday just confused and irritated me. other than that quality
